ATTENTION SAU 36 COMMUNITY MEMBERS: The White Mountains Regional School District Board has authorized the commissioning of an advisory committee to review all the infrastructure needs of the school district facilities and prepare a recommended capital improvement plan with ideas from funding. The deadline to submit this for consideration to join the advisory committee is October 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. A list of recommended committee members will be presented to the school board for approval on October 26, 2023. Good Evening Families and Staff, FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) tomorrow. Subject: Continuation of Advisory Committee for 7/8 Transition Dear WMRSD Family Members, We are writing to inform you about the continuation of the Advisory Committee to the School Board for a transition within our district. This transition involves studying the impact of relocating all 7th and 8th graders to Lancaster Elementary School while moving all Prekindergarten students to Whitefield School. We want to share the rationale behind this study for proposed change: Aligning Programs: Our goal is to create consistency and ensure a high-quality educational experience for all students by aligning programs between the two elementary schools. This will result in a more streamlined curriculum and the sharing of valuable resources. Inability to Staff Middle School Positions: Addressing the ongoing challenge of staffing middle school positions at both schools is a top priority. Staffing shortages can impact the quality of instruction and the overall learning experience for our students, as well as placing undue stress on our existing staff. Early Childhood Model: We recognize the importance of early childhood education and the need to provide our youngest learners with a strong foundation. Establishing an early childhood model at Whitefield Elementary will offer a nurturing environment for our pre-kindergarten children. Possible Fiscal Impact: This study will assess the potential fiscal impact of these changes to ensure responsible fiscal management. We are committed to allocating resources efficiently to support our students' educational needs. As this study progresses, we emphasize our commitment to transparency and open communication. Dear Families and SAU #36 Staff, I am writing to announce an important addition to our school district's leadership team. We are thrilled to introduce Mr. Rob Scott as the new Assistant Superintendent for School Operations. With his extensive experience and dedication to education, we are confident that Mr. Scott will contribute significantly to the continued growth and success of our district. It is essential to clarify that Mr. Scott's appointment does not replace his existing responsibilities as Director of Facilities and CTE Director. In fact, he will continue to excel in these roles, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and promoting career and technical education opportunities for our students. In his new capacity as Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Scott will assume the credentialing duties previously performed by our former HR Manager. This includes overseeing the credentialing process with the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent and the Superintendent, for all district staff, ensuring that they possess the necessary qualifications and certifications for their respective positions. Furthermore, Mr. Scott will be taking on increased supervision and evaluation of staff. By providing comprehensive support and guidance, he will help foster a positive work environment and promote professional growth among our educators and support staff. Another crucial aspect of Mr. Scott's role will be focusing on the safety and security of our district. Recognizing the paramount importance of maintaining a secure learning environment, he will work diligently to ensure that all necessary protocols and procedures are in place. Additionally, he will spearhead the implementation of relevant training programs for our staff to enhance their preparedness and response in various situations. He will also serve as the Title IV Coordinator and the District’s Equity Officer. Rob will also assume all transportation - related responsibilities for our District's vehicles/vans/trucks/buses. Mr. Scott's appointment as Assistant Superintendent for School Operations reflects our district's commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality educational experience for all students and staff members. We are confident that his expertise, passion, and dedication will make a lasting impact on our district's operations and the overall success of our students.
